Derby CAMRA Winter Ale Festival


The 16th Derby Winter Beer Festival will take place between 19th and 22nd February 2020 at the Roundhouse in Derby.


The organising meetings for the festival are open to all CAMRA members. The remaining meeting is as follows:

Trade Session

The Trade Session for the Derby Winter Ales Festival 2020 is being held as usual on Wednesday 19th February from 15:00 to 17:00.

Opening Times and Prices

Wednesday 19th - 17:00 to 23:00. Price: £3.00.
Thursday 20th - 12:00 to 23:00. Price: £3.00 before 17:30, £5.00 after.
Friday 21st - 12:00 to 23:00. Price: £3.00 before 17:30, £6.00 after.
Saturday 22nd - 12:00 to 23:00. Price: £3.00 before 17:30, £6.00 after.

Note: We operate Challenge 25 so ID will be needed for entry.

Free entry to CAMRA members with a valid membership card for all sessions.
Under 26s half price with photo ID.
Over 60s free Thur-Sat 12:00 to 17:30.
Unfortunately Advanced Tickets are not available for the festival due to entrance restrictions.
We would like to point out that this festival is staffed entirely by volunteers.
Please bear in mind that there may be queues at busy times but we will endeavour to get you into the festival as fast as possible.


Getting There

The Roundhouse venue is part of the Derby College complex situated on the Eastern side of Derby Railway Station. Click here to open Google Maps Roundhouse.

If arriving by train use the Pride Park exit from the over-bridge.

Bus and Foot
Free Bus service will be provided from Derwent Street and Moreledge (stop C8) to outside the Roundhouse. Note the bus does not serve the bus station. Buses run every 30 minutes with the first and last shown below.
Wednesday: First bus 17:00; Last bus 22:00.
Thursday: First bus 12:00; Last bus 22:00.
Friday: First bus 12:00; Last bus 22:00. Between 18:00 and 22:00 buses will go to the front of the railway station.
Saturday: First bus 12:00; Last bus 22:00.

Arriva Route F1 also operates between the bus station the back of the Roundhouse. Alight at the Roundhouse Way stop. There is a short cut opposite the stop which takes you to the front of the Roundhouse.

Getting Home

For those not using a Beer Scooter, please note the following:

Free Buses
Buses will run from the Roundhouse at xx:15 and xx:45 past the hour. Last buses are 22:15, 22:50 and 23:20.
Friday only buses between 18:15 and 22:15 will depart from the front of the railway station instead of the Roundhouse

Matlock (including Duffield and Belper) - trains depart at xx:52 with the last at 20:51 and 22:19.
Burton on Trent - 22:12 and 22:46 (22:56 on Saturday).

This year we will feature bars from Blue Monkey, Navigation, Peak Ales and Totally Brewed.
There will also be a craft ales bar featuring some interesting tipples from keykeg.

The Hot Dogs A dynamic brass band that peform funk and pop covers in a New orleans street style.
Indie Division a classic indie cover band doing great songs from the golden era - The Smiths, Stone Roses, Oasis, Shed Seven, Buzzcocks and many more.
J - Quad Pop, Rock & Soul.

Saturday 22nd
The Hot Dogs A dynamic brass band that peform funk and pop covers in a New orleans street style.
The Newcranes Derby based Folk-Rock band frequently compared to the Levellers and other contemporary folk-rock groups..
